The Minister for Local Government has instructed the Queensland Electoral Commission to investigate changing the boundary of Livingstone Shire Council which would see the three suburbs of Glenlee, Glendale and Rockyview transferred to Rockhampton Regional Council. Livingstone Shire Council is asking members of our community to provide feedback regarding this proposal.

The proposed change has far-reaching consequences and Livingstone Shire Council is opposing the change to protect the financial and strategic future of the whole shire. Council believes that it is important for ratepayers and residents to have their say on this challenge, as you are the ones who will be directly affected by the proposal, Potentially, this boundary change could see a significant increase in rates , a reduction in services, or both. A recent independent review of the financial impact on LSC has confirmed that the proposed change would result in a net loss of revenue of more than $20 million over ten years, growing to over $36 million in 20 years.
