This page is set up so you can ask questions, and get connected to any of the Commonwealth or State Government stimulus packages and information. We may not have answers to all your questions, but we will work with you to find an answer.

  • Livingstone Shire Council understands many businesses are deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

    To support local businesses during this time,  we have assembled a range of services available to assist and we are offering a subsidy to help you fast track your online sales, or assist in other specialist areas, for example strategy setting and financial advice. 

    To make the process equitable we have a few eligibility requirements.  

    • Your business must be operating within the Livingstone Shire Local Government Area. We will not provide the subsidy to business not operating in Livingstone Shire. 
    • You will be required to tell

    • You will be required to tell us how your business has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
    • We have limited resources at our disposal so we are prioritising businesses with less than 10 people employed. 

    Final date for all applications is 5:00 pm Friday 1 May 2020. 

    The Economy and Places team encourages businesses to ‘think-out-outside the box’ and where possible ‘share-the-love’ between providers when looking at the services on offer.

    In particular we are focused on services that can help existing business that need to either switch to online sales, or increase their online presence.  However, we also need experts in strategy, finance and law.  Some services we have identified as priority are:

    • Content marketing creation – creating content for free organic traffic 

    • Copywriters – for online campaigns 

    • Ecommerce specialists – Shopify site creation and

    • Video and content creation - a focus on using a smart phone  

    • Professional commercial photography 

    • Building capacity in online networking programs such as Zoom and Skype 

    • Business guidance setting specialists – with a focus on providing strategic advice on how to pivot existing business models to deal with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic 

    • Financial guidance - expertise in helping businesses understand eligibility for government COVID-19 stimulus packages  

    • Bookkeeping – cash flow projections/budgeting/general taxation advice 

    For professional services such as financial and legal advice, Council highly recommends that businesses work with their existing providers who are familiar with their business.   

    While we do understand that each customer’s needs will vary, and terms and conditions may need to be negotiated, for the purposes of compiling a database of local suppliers we require all interested business to register with Council and be specific in their services and respective charges.

     Obviously we understand many businesses will have multiple services on offer and we are more than happy to include these in the database.
