Councillors attend planned burn at Emu Park

Deputy Mayor Cr Belot and Cr Friend attended the prescribed burn located at Henry Street Emu Park on Sunday 21 June 2020. This is the first on council Land and volunteers with QFRES and Rural Fire Brigades attended. This burn was aimed at reducing the fuel load in preparation for the upcoming fire season. It was controlled in such a way to minimise the impact to the ecosystem and the environment. This burn is part of the overall bushfire mitigation strategy of Operation Coolburn in partnership with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.
