Resilient Rural Living Event - A Sustainability Day for rural landholders, including small acreage living

Are you a local group or organisation that cares for our rural environments, promotes sustainability, resilient living/working/practices, biodiversity and is enthusiastic about helping and educating others who live in our rural communities?

If you answered yes, we have the perfect event for you! To share your passion with the community, we would like to invite you to be a free stallholder!

The free community Reslient Rural Living - event will be held on Sunday 3rd March 2024 at the Cawarral Cricket Grounds. We are planning for the day to include interesting guest speakers, interactive activities and stall holders, all associated with living and working in the rural areas of our Shire and want to also include diverse, helpful and current information/ideas for resilient and sustainable small landholder living. Topics we hope to present include, (but not limited to):

  • Future climate change outlooks and what that means for the way we work and live on the land
  • Sustainable energy alternatives
  • Drought resilience planning
  • Food security for the Shire/community
  • Healthy soils, composting, biodiversity and carbon sequestration, including soil types and testing, agronomy,
  • Farming for conservation and the value of native plants and animals, including local threatened ecosystems and how to manage them
