14 June Media Statement - Public submissions open

15 June 2022

Please attribute to Livingstone Shire Mayor Andy Ireland:

Livingstone Shire Council Mayor Andy Ireland is strongly encouraging all residents of Livingstone Shire to consider lodging a public submission with the Electoral Commission Queensland and share their thoughts on the proposed boundary change and pending vote.

“This boundary change will have diabolical financial impacts to Livingstone Shire,” Mayor Ireland said.

The Electoral Commission Queensland has advised that written submissions are now invited and close on 5pm Monday 4 July 2022. Submitters are encouraged to provide relevant supporting information on matters such as:

  • communities of interest considerations

  • joint arrangements in conjunction with, or instead of a change to external boundaries

  • planning and development considerations, and

  • resource base sufficiency.

You can visit the ECQ website for more information.

“We are strongly urging everyone in the community to voice their opinion and to leave Livingstone alone!”
