  • How was this community consultation initiated?
  • On the 18th of April at the ordinary council meeting Councillor Adam Belot submitted a Notice of Motion in relation to assessing support from the community and the Capricorn Coast Outriggers in relation to minor works to be carried out at the Southern end of Lammermoor Beach.

  • Are there specific structures already planned to be placed in the area already?
  • No. There are no plans for any structures to be built/ approved at this time.

  • How do I get more information about structures that may be permitted on Southern Lammermoor Beach?
  • The Excluded Works document is on this page for your reference at any time.

  • What does the Excluded Work document state for coastal development guidelines?
  • S4 of the Excluded work (Coastal) – Guideline for coastal development offers the following with respect to ‘excluded work’ under the Planning Regulation 2017.

    o Any permanent structures will require tenure permits from the Queensland Government.

    o Temporary structures with a footprint less than 10m2 (eg. benches/seats, showers, rubbish bins, signs, picnic shelters, playground equipment) can be approved and are consistent with the dedication or purpose of the land.

    o Works carried out by the local authority are exempt development. Works carried out by others are subject to land tenure and development assessment requirements.
