Livingstone Shire Council has been successful in securing Queensland Government funding to develop Walking Network Plans and Draft Works Plans for Lammermoor/Taranganba and the township of Keppel Sands.

In collaboration with key user groups and stakeholders, the Walking Network Plan determines the footpaths within each suburb that form a primary route to enable connectivity between a number of destinations. Council has already identified some of these key destinations that are likely generators or attractors of pedestrian traffic.

The planned priority pathways will allow local residents and visitors to the region to better access surrounding communities and public transport services located in the areas. The improvements to the pathway network will encourage physical activity in the area through improved connectivity and ease of accessibility to other destinations.
